1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Party Pixel (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use the Party Pixel mobile application (the “App”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information: name, email address, and password (stored securely and encrypted) when you create an account.
Event Content: photos, videos, guestbook messages, event names, event dates, and join codes that you upload or create within the App.
Photo Booth Inputs: images you submit to the AI photo booth feature, which are sent to our AI processing partners solely to generate the requested output and are not used to train any models.
Device & Usage Data: device type, iOS version, app version, crash logs, performance metrics, and general usage analytics that help us improve the App.
Purchase Information: subscription status, purchase receipts, and transaction identifiers from Apple and our payments partner RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your full credit card number.
Camera & Photo Library Access: with your permission, the App accesses your camera and photo library to let you upload photos to events. Permission can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account and authenticate you on the App.
Host, display, and share photos and guestbook messages within the events you join or create.
Generate event QR codes and join links.
Process AI photo booth requests and deliver edited images back to you.
Process subscription purchases, renewals, restores, and refunds.
Send important service messages (account, security, and transactional notifications).
Diagnose problems, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve App performance and features.
Comply with legal obligations.

4. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

With Other Event Participants: photos, your display name, and guestbook messages you upload to an event are visible to the host and to all guests who have joined that event.
Service Providers: we use trusted vendors to operate the App, including Supabase (database, storage, authentication), Apple (App Store, push notifications, sign-in), RevenueCat (subscription management), and AI providers used solely to process photo booth requests. These providers are contractually limited to using your data on our behalf.
Legal Requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
Business Transfers: if Party Pixel is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Retention

Event photos and guestbook entries are retained for 60 days after the event for hosts and 30 days for guests, after which they may be deleted unless an active subscription extends access.
Account information is retained for as long as your account is active.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@partypixelapp.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Withdraw consent (for example, by revoking camera or photo permissions in iOS Settings).
Request a portable copy of your data.
Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

7. Children’s Privacy

Party Pixel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided us with personal information should contact support@partypixelapp.com.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest, hashed passwords, and restricted access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

10. Third-Party Services

The App may contain links to third-party services or content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

11. Subscriptions and Payments

All purchases are processed through Apple’s App Store and managed by RevenueCat. We receive transaction metadata (subscription status, product ID, expiration date) but never your full payment card information. Apple’s privacy policy governs payment data: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

12. Push Notifications

With your permission, we send notifications about new event activity, photo uploads, subscription status, and important service updates. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
